Common Names
El Rodeo Mushroomtongue Salamander (Raffaëlli, 2022, Salamanders & Newts of the World: 776).
Distribution
Both intact and disturbed fragments of broadleaf cloud forest and mixed cloud forest at 1910–2310 m elevation in the Sierra de Puca–Opalaca and Montaña de la Sierra in the southern cordillera of the Chortís Highlands; known from at least seven localities in the departments of Intibucá and La Paz, Honduras.

Comment
The sister taxon of Bolitoglossa celaque, with which this species was previously confused, according to the original publication. Raffaëlli, 2022, Salamanders & Newts of the World: 776–777, provided an account summarizing systematics, life history, population status, and distribution (including a polygon map).
