Type locality: "3.0 km SSE Chichicastenango, valley between Paxot and Caminibal, 2100 m, El Quiché, Guatemala (14.921181° N, 91.103626° W)".

Distribution

Northern edge of the Guatemalan Plateau and the extreme western portion of the Sierra de Chuacús, at 2100–2390 m in pine-oak forest, El Quiché, Guatemala.

Confused with Bolitoglossa cuchumatana prior to its naming according to Campbell, Smith, Streicher, Acevedo, and Brodie, 2010, Misc. Publ. Mus. Zool. Univ. Michigan, 200: 22–24. Köhler, 2011, Amph. Cent.
