Madeira Mushroomtongue Salamander (Raffaëlli, 2022, Salamanders & Newts of the World: 734).

Distribution

Known only from the northwestern part of Rondônia state, on left bank of the Madeira river, near Hydroelectric Projects of Santo Antônio and Jirau, both in the Municipality of Porto Velho, elevations of 70 to 100 m.

Confused with Bolitoglossa altamazonica and Bolitoglossa paraensis prior to its naming according to the original publication. Raffaëlli, 2013, Urodeles du Monde, 2nd ed.: 338, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map. Raffaëlli, 2022, Salamanders & Newts of the World: 734, provided an account summarizing systematics, life history, population status, and distribution (including a polygon map).
