Comment

Chippindale, 2005, in Lannoo (ed.), Amph. Declines: 769, provided a detailed account that summarized the biology and conservation literature. See map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 574. Although Eurycea robusta could not be included in the analysis, the molecular tree provided by Bonett, Steffen, Lambert, Wiens, and Chippindale, 2014 "2013", Evolution, 68: 473, suggests a close relationship with Eurycea rathbuniRaffaëlli, 2013, Urodeles du Monde, 2nd ed.: 241, provided a brief account, photograph, and map. Devitt, Wright, Cannatella, and Hillis, 2019, Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA, 116: 2624–2633, reported on the phylogenetic relationships and aquifer loyalty of this species. Raffaëlli, 2022, Salamanders & Newts of the World: 537, provided an account, summarizing systematics, life history, population status, and distribution (including a polygon map).
