Common Names
Guposhan Paddle-tailed Newt (Raffaëlli, 2022, Salamanders & Newts of the World: 465).
Distribution
Small montane streams in broadleaf forests on Mount Jiuwei in Hunan and Mount Gupo in in Guangxi, China, likely more widespread.

Comment
The sister taxon of Pachytriton changi + Pachytriton xanthospilos according to the original publication, based on a Bayesian tree of ND2 and cytb. Raffaëlli, 2022, Salamanders & Newts of the World: 463, provided an account, summarizing systematics, life history, population status, and distribution (including a polygon map).
