Distribution

Subtropical montane habitat in the vicinity of the type locality (Pianma Town, Lushui County, Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture, northwestern Yunnan Province, China) at ca. 1200 m elevation; expected in adjacent northeastern Myanmar.

Similar to Tylototriton verrucosus according to the original publication where comparative morphology and habitat were discussed. Raffaëlli, 2022, Salamanders & Newts of the World: 309–310, provided an account, summarizing systematics, life history, population status, and distribution (including a polygon map).
