Comment
See coments under Tylototriton verrucosus for literature that presumably addresses this species under that name. Raffaëlli, 2013, Urodeles du Monde, 2nd ed.: 189, provided a brief account, photograph, and map. Sparreboom, 2014, Salamanders Old World: 366–367, reviewed the biology, characteristics, distribution, reproduction, and conservation of the species. See brief account by Phimmachak, Aowphol, and Stuart, 2015, Zootaxa, 4006: 299–300, who provided the Laos localities. Hernandez, Escoriza, Pomchote, and Hou, 2019, Herpetol. Bull., London, 147: 15–18, provided a record for Phetchabun Province, north-central Thailand, and discussed the range and habitat. Niyomwan, Srisom, and Pawangkhanant, 2019, Field Guide Amph. Thailand: 94–95, provided a brief account (photograph, habitat, and range) for Thailand (in Thai). Bernardes, Le, Nguyen, Pham, Pham, Nguyen, Rödder, Bonkowski, and Ziegler, 2020, ZooKeys, 935: 121–164, provided a range map. Makchai, Chuaynkern, Safoowong, Chuachat, and Cota, 2020, Amph. N. Thailand: 186, provided photographs, a brief account for Thailand, and a range map. In the Tylototriton (Yaotriton) vietnamensis species group of Poyarkov, Nguyen, and Arkhipov, 2021, Taprobanica, 10: 4–22, who discussed phylogenetics. In the Tylototriton asperrimus group of Lyu, Wang, Zeng, Zhou, Qi, Wan, Li, and Wang, 2021, Vert. Zool., Senckenberg, 71: 697–710, who discussed phylogenetics. Raffaëlli, 2022, Salamanders & Newts of the World: 298–300, provided an account, summarizing systematics, life history, population status, and distribution (including a polygon map). Stuart, Seateun, Sivongxay, and Phimmachak, 2025 "2024", in Wildlife Lao PDR: 20, briefly summarized literature, taxonomy, habitat, and range for Laos.
