Huangyan area of the southwestern Xuefeng Mountains, Hunan Province, China, 800 to 1200 m elevation.

Comment

Previously confused with Tylototriton wenxianensis, but the sister taxon of Tylototriton maolanensis, according to the original publication, where comparative adult and larval morphology, morphometrics, osteology, and genetic markers were detailed.
