Tylototriton (Yaotriton) thaiorum Poyarkov, Nguyen, and Arkhipov, 2021, Taprobanica, 10: 14. Holotype: ZMMU A-7577, by original designaiton. Thai Crocodile Newt (original publication). 


Pu Hoat Nature Reserve, Nghe An Province, Vietnam, 700 to 1000 m elevation, close to the Houpaphan Province, Laos, border where it is expected to occur on the northwestern slopes of the Pu Hoat Mountain Range.  


In the Tylototriton (Yaotriton) asperrimus species group and the sister taxon of Tylototriton notialis, with which it formerly was confused, according to the original publication, where natural history, morphology, molecular markers, and phylogeny of Tylototriton generally were discussed.
