Distribution

Known from five localities in montane areas of Manipur State, north-eastern India at elevations from 1180 to 2210 m; likely to extend in the heavily forest highlands into Nagaland State of India and even may penetrate to the easternmost parts of Arunachal Pradesh State of India and Sagaing Division of Myanmar.

Comment

The sister taxon of Tylototriton panwaensis according to the original publication, where comparative adult and larval morphology and molecular markers were detailed.
