Distribution
Eastern slope of the Cordillera Oriental in Morona Santiago and Zamora Chinchipe provinces, Ecuador, 2039 to 2354 m elevation; reported from the Cordillera Central in the Tabaconas Namballe National Sanctuary, Cajamarca department, northern Peru, elevation ca. 1990 m.

Comment
Taylor and Peters, 1974, Univ. Kansas Sci. Bull., 50: 341, commented on the single specimen. Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 4: 329, provided an account, with photographs, which summarized identification, morphology, systematics, distribution (including a dot map for Ecuador and, without comment, giving a elevational range over 600 m higher than the original statement of the type locality), and conservation. Cusi Martínez, Vargas, Vargas, Peloso, and Maciel, 2025, Bol. Mus. Parense Emilio Goeldi, Cienc. Nat., 20(2: e2025-0922): 1–8, provided a record (not genetically confirmed) from Tabaconas Namballe National Sanctuary, Cajamarca Department, northern Peru, elevation ca. 1990 m.
