Caecilia epicrionopsoides Fernández-Roldán, Lynch, and Medina-Rangel, 2023, Zootaxa, 5227: 213. Holotype: ICN 58307, by original designation. Type locality: "finca La Isla, on the shores of Río Batá, Santa María, Boyacá, Colombia, . . . , 4°51’13.36’’N, 73°16’00.12’’W, 784 m."

Known only from Paya and Santa María (Boyacá), Nunchía, Casanare, Medina (Cundinamarca), San Martín (Meta), Toledo, P.N.N. Tamá (Norte de Santander), Colombia, and Uribante (Táchira), Venezuela on the eastern slopes of the Cordillera Oriental and Piedemonte Llanero in Colombia and neighboring Táchira, Venezuela, between 250–1220 m elevation.
