Comment

Lynch, 2000 "1999", Rev. Acad. Colomb. Cienc. Exact. Fis. Nat., 23: 327, suggested that the population of nominal Caecilia pachycnema from Antioquia in Colombia represents a different species (now Caecilia goweri) than Caecilia pachynema from Ecuador. The species' distinctive morphology and coloration was compared to near relatives in the original publication. Fernández-Roldán and Lynch, 2022, Herpetol. Bull., London, 162: 30–31, discussed the history of specimen identification and the range of the species, along with a dot map.
