Comment

Lynch, 2000 "1999", Rev. Acad. Colomb. Cienc. Exact. Fis. Nat., 23: 326, suggested that some confusion with Caecilia nigricans had appeared in the literature. Acosta-Galvis, Huertas-Salgado, and Rada, 2006, Rev. Acad. Colomb. Cienc. Exact. Fis. Nat., 30: 291-303, reported the species in Caldas, Colombia. See map provided by Acosta-Galvis, Torres, and Pulido-Santacruz, 2019, ZooKeys, 884: 138. Lynch and Fernández-Roldán, 2025, Phyllomedusa, 24: 45–55, reported on geographic variation in body groove counts and provided a dot map of distribution.
