Type locality: "from low-lying shrubs at Kollimalai Massif (11.245840°N, 78.335365°E; alt. 1,100 m a.s.l.), Namakkal District, Tamil Nadu, India". English Names

Kollimalai Bush Frog (original publication; Dinesh, Radhakrishnan, Deepak, and Kulkarni, 2023, Fauna India Checklist, vers. 5.0 : 14).

Distribution

Known only from the type locality (Kollimalai Massif, 1100 m elevation, Namakkal District, Tamil Nadu, India.

Comment

The sister taxon of Raorchestes charius, from which it differs from in call, morphology, and molecular markers according to the original publication. Narayanan, Suyesh, and Das, 2021, Zootaxa, 4970: 599, placed this taxon into the synonymy of Raorchestes charius, but this action was more-or-less immediately rejected by Mirza and Gowande, 2021, Taprobanica, 10: 140–145, with substantial discussion.
