Rhacophorus (Leptomantis) orlovi Ziegler and Köhler, 2001, Sauria, Berlin, 23: 38. Holotype: ZFMK 71368, by original designation. Type locality: "Tieflandfeuchtwald-Schutz-gebiet Ky Anh-Ke go (Umgebung N 18° 01′, O 106° 04′), ca. 350 m NN, Provinz Ha Tinh, sudliches Nord-Vietnam". See comment.

Distribution

Lowland wet forests of Bac Kan, Gai Lai, Cao Bang, Nghe An, Lao Cai, Kon Tum, Ningh Binh, Ha Tinh, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Son La, Tuyen Quang, and Quang Binh provinces, Vietnam, into adjacent Laos (Khammouan Province); into southern Yunnan (Guiliang Village, Laofanzhai Township, Hekou County, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China, 750 m elevation), and likely into northeastern Cambodia (see comment).

Most closely related to Rhacophorus bimaculatus and Rhacophorus cyanopunctatus according to the original publication; this rejected by Jiang, Jiang, Ren, Wu, and Li, 2019, Asian Herpetol. Res., 10: 6, who placed those species in Leptomantis and Rhacophorus orlovi squarely in Rhacophorus. Ziegler, Herrmann, and Köhler, 2002, Herpetol. Rev., 33: 146, discussed records in Vietnam.
