Comment

Most closely related to Arthroleptis kidogo, and with that species, the closest relative of a group composed of Arthroleptis schubotzi, Arthroleptis xenodactylus, and Arthroleptis xenodactyloides. Loader, Poynton, Lawson, Blackburn, and Menegon, 2011, Fieldiana, Life Earth Sci., 4: 93, noted that an unnamed cryptic species occures in the South Pare Mountains, and provided a provisional record for the North Pare Mountains of Tanzania. Harper, Measey, Patrick, Menegon, and Vonesh, 2010, Field Guide Amph. E. Arc Mts. Tanzania and Kenya: 42–43, provided a brief account for the Eastern Arc Mountains of Tanzania. Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 258–259, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map.
