Arthroleptis nguruensis Poynton, Menegon, and Loader, 2009 "2008", Afr. J. Herpetol., 57: 64. Holotype: MTSN 8137, by original designation. Type locality: "at the Masaki side of the Nguru South Forest Reserve, Tanzania, 06° 03′ 51.1″ S, 37° 30′ 33.3″ E, 1790 m".

Comment

Most closely related to Arthroleptis tanneri, Arthroleptis affinis, and Arthroleptis nikeae, according to the original publication, where comparative morphology, morphometrics, and advertisement call were detailed. Harper, Measey, Patrick, Menegon, and Vonesh, 2010, Field Guide Amph. E. Arc Mts. Tanzania and Kenya: 46–47, provided a brief account for the Eastern Arc Mountains of Tanzania. Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph.
