Cardioglossa gracilis Boulenger, 1900, Proc. Zool. Soc. London, 1900: 446. Syntypes: BMNH 1947.2.30.39–43 (formerly 1900.2.17.77–81), IRSNB 1.717 (formerly BMNH 1947.2.17.82), according to Amiet, 1985, in Frost (ed.), Amph. Species World: 16, and Lang, 1990, Doc. Trav., Inst. R. Sci. Nat. Belg., 59: 6. Type locality: "Benito River", elsewhere in the original publication noted as "Benito River, north of the Gaboon River between 20 and 30 miles inland from the coast, Gaboon" (actually in Equatorial Guinea).

Distribution

Southeastern Nigeria to northwestern Dem. Rep. Congo (and in adjacent southwestern Central African Republic) through southern Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon, in forested areas under 1200 m elevation; reported from Uigé Province of northwestern Angola; presumably to be found in intervening Rep. Congo

Lasso, Rial, Castroviejo, and De la Riva, 2002, Graellsia, 58: 21–34, provided notes on ecological distribution in Equatorial Guinea. Schiøtz, 1963, Vidensk. Medd. Dansk Naturhist. Foren., 125: 32–33, provided records for Nigeria. Jongsma, Tobi, Dixon-MacCallum, Bamba-Kaya, Yoga, Mbega, Mve Beh, Emrich, and Blackburn, 2017, Amph. Rept. Conserv., 11 (1: e144): 6, provided a record for southeastern Gabon and briefly discussed habitat and range.  Larson and Zimkus, 2018, Herpetol. Conserv.
