Comment

Cardioglossa nigromaculata inornata Laurent, 1952, was suggested to be a distinct species by to Amiet, 1985, in Frost (ed.), Amph. Species World: 17, although he did not make the formal change. Subsequently,  Hirschfeld, Blackburn, Burger, Greenbaum, Zassi-Boulou, and Rödel, 2015, Afr. J. Herpetol., 64: 94, discussed the evidence and recognized Cardioglossa inornata as distinct. Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 244–245, provided a brief account and range map.
