Comment
Considered a junior synonym of Leptopelis bocagii by Loveridge, 1933, Bull. Mus. Comp. Zool., 74: 393. Nevertheless, Perret, 1976, Arq. Mus. Bocage, Ser. 2, 6: 23, thought it distinctive. Marques, Ceríaco, Blackburn, and Bauer, 2018, Proc. California Acad. Sci., Ser. 4, 65 (Suppl. II): 125–126, provided a map and brief account for Angola. These authors thought it a nomen dubium although Perret, 1976, Arq. Mus. Bocage, Ser. 2, 6: 23, had examined the specimen and thought it distinctive. Becker, Baptista, Vaz Pinto, Ernst, and Conradie, 2023, Namib. J. Environm., 8: 245–257, discussed this species, its range in the highlands of Angola, and provided a dot map.
