Distribution
Grassy meadows of the Didda Plateau and the northern Bale Mountains at mid- to high elevations (2429–3296 m), Ethiopia.

Comment
Formerly confused with Leptopelis gramineus according to the original publication, where relevent literature, morphology, morphometrics, genetic markers, advertisement call, limited hybridization with Leptopelis shebellensis, distribution, and natural history were detailed. Spawls, Mazuch, and Mohammad, 2023, Handb. Amph. Rept. NE Afr.: 78, did not accept recognition of this species for undisclosed reasons.
