Comment
In the Eleutherodactylus gollmeri group according to the original publication, where its severe endangerment due to habitat destruction was also noted. Savage, 2002, Amph. Rept. Costa Rica: 226, included this species in his Eleutherodactylus fitzingeri series, Eleutherodactylus gollmeri group. McCranie and Wilson, 2002, Amph. Honduras: 377-380, provided an account. McCranie, 2007, Herpetol. Rev., 38: 37, detailed the departmental distribution in Honduras. In the Craugastor laticeps species series of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 38. In the subgenus Craugastor but not assigned to species series by Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 123. See map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 301. Kolby, 2009, Herpetol. Rev., 40: 107, provided the first locality away from the type locality in Honduras. Köhler, 2011, Amph. Cent. Am.: 140–191, provided a key to the genera and species of Brachycephaloidea (= Craugastoridae, Eleutherodactylidae) in Central America and provided maps and photographs of the species, including this one.
