Eleutherodactylus epochthidius McCranie and Wilson, 1997, Alytes, 14: 169. Holotype: ROM 18109, by original designation. Type locality: "Río Seco (14° 55′ N, 85° 56′ W), elevation 1050 m, tributary of Río Guayape N of Catacamas, Sierra de Agalta, Departamento de Olancho, Honduras".

Distribution
Elevations of 150 to 1450 m in the Sierra de Agalta, Olancho, northeastward to the Montaña de las Marías, Olancho, and tributaries of the rivers Paulaya and Plátano, Colón, on the Atlantic versant of east-central and northeastern Honduras.
