Eleutherodactylus megalotympanum Shannon and Werler, 1955, Trans. Kansas Acad. Sci., 58: 372. Holotype: F.A. Shannon 4084, by original designation; now presumably in UIMNH. Type locality: "on the slopes of Volcán San Martín, Veracruz, elevation 3-4000 ft.", Mexico.
