Comment

In the Eleutherodactylus (Craugastor) rhodopis group according to Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 228. See discussion by Lynch, 2000, Rev. Acad. Colomb. Cienc. Exact. Fis. Nat., 24: 133–135. In the Craugastor (Craugastormexicanus species series of Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 123. Reyes-Velasco, Grünwald, Jones, and Ahumada-Carrillo, 2020, Rev. Latinoam. Herpetol., 3: 61–82, noted an MCZ specimen with likely erroneous collection data from Colima, Mexico. See account by Jameson, Streicher, Manuelli, Head, and Smith, 2022, Herpetol. Monogr., 36: 27–29, who placed this in their Craugastor mexicanus series and redelimited the species, as well as providing descriptive morphology, morphometrics, and molecular markers.
