Craugastor palenque (Campbell and Savage, 2000)
Eleutherodactylus palenque Campbell and Savage, 2000, Herpetol. Monogr., 14: 221. Holotype: KU 171219, by original designation. Type locality: "10.7 km SE Cristobla Colon on road to Bonampak, ca. 350 m, Chiapas, Mexico. This site lies in Premontane Wet Forest at about 17° 08′ N, 91° 34′ W."

Common Names
Palenque Robber Frog (Liner and Casas-Andreu, 2008, Herpetol. Circ., 38: 10).
Distribution
Lower Caribbean slopes of northern Chiapas, Mexico, and adjacent Guatemala, where it is known from small tributaries that drain into the lower Río Grijalva, 300–350 m elevation in cloud forest.

Natural Resident: Guatemala, Mexico
Comment
In the Eleutherodactylus rugulosus group according to the original publication. In the Craugastor punctariolus species series of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 42, and of Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 123. Köhler, 2011, Amph. Cent. Am.: 140–191, provided a key to the genera and species of Brachycephaloidea (= Craugastoridae, Eleutherodactylidae) in Central America and provided maps and photographs of the species, including this one.
