Type locality: "Departamento del Tolima, municipio Herveo, vereda Albania, Páramo Letras, Km. 77–79 carretera Mariquita a Manizales, vertiente oriental, Cordillera Central, 5° 4.9′ latitud N, 75° 11.3′ W de Greenwich, 3100–3400 m. ", Colombia.

Western and eastern slope of the Cordillera Central from the type locality (Departamento del Tolima) and nearby on the border of Caldas, south to El Porvenir, municipality of Córdoba, Quindio, Colombia, 3100-3400 m elevation.
