Noblella coloma Guayasamin and Terán-Valdez, 2009, Zootaxa, 2161: 48. Holotype: QCAZ 26307, by original designation. Type locality: "Reserva Florística Río Guajalito (0° 14′S, 78° 49′W; 1800-2000 m), 3 km NW from Km 59 on the old road from Quito to Santo Domingo", Provincia Pichincha, Ecuador.

Pacific slopes of the Cordillera Occidental of Ecuador in Pichincha and Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas provinces, 1283–2215 m elevation.

Arteaga-Navarro, Bustamante, and Guayasamin, 2013, Amph. Rept. Mindo: 54–55, provided an account and dot map for Ecuador that includes records based on personal communications. Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 3: 23–24, provided an account (as Noblella coloma) summarizing morphological identification, natural history, distribution (including a dot map for Ecuador), and conservation, with photographs.
