Distribution

Known only from the type locality (sector Monay sector, cantón Rivera, Provincia de Cañar, Ecuador, from 3374 to 3535 m elevation).

Comment

In the Pristimantis orcesi group, the sister taxon of Pristimantis erythros according to the original publication. Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 3: 60–62, provided an account, with photographs, summarizing morphological identification, natural history, distribution, conservation, and also (p. 456–457) described the advertisement call.
