Distribution

Known from the vicinity of the type locality on the paramos of the Nudo de Cajanuma, at elevations between 3213 and 3400 m, on the Cordillera Oriental of the Andes of southern Ecuador (Loja Province).

Comment

Unassigned to species group in the original publication, although the authors noted its morphological similarity to members of the former Pristimantis orcesi group. Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 3: 62–63, provided an account, with photographs, summarizing morphological identification, natural history, distribution, conservation, and also (p. 457) described the advertisement call.
