Pristimantis ardyae Reyes-Puig, Reyes-Puig, and Yánez-Muñoz, 2013, Avanc. Cienc. Ingen., Quito, Secc. B,, 5(2): B7. Holotype: QCAZ 52498, by original designation. Type locality: "en la Reserva Ecológica Río Zúñag, Fundación Ecominga (01° 22’ 31.3” S, 78° 09’ 43.5” O, 2200 m), parroquia Río Negro, cantón Baños, provincia de Tungurahua, República del Ecuador".

Cutín de Ardy (Spanish: Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 3: xxxiii).

Distribution

Known only from the type locality (Reserva Ecológica Río Zúñag, Fundación Ecominga, Cantón Baños, Provincia de Tungurahua, Ecuador; likely to extend in cloud forests in the northern Cordillera Oriental into Napo and Pastaza provinces.

Comment

Similar to species in the Pristimantis lacrimosus group according to the original publication.  Not assignable to species group according to Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 127. Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 3: 71–73, provided an account with photographs which summarized morphological identification, systematics, natural history, distribution (ambiguous statement), and conservation.
