Distribution

Known only from the vicinity of the type locality in high montane evergreen forest of the Western Andes in the Cayapas mountain range, specifically Piñan, Cotacachi, Cayapas-Chupa, Parque Nacional Cotacachi-Cayapas, Imbabura Province, Ecuador, between 3290 to 3410 m elevation.

In the Pristimantis myersi species group, Pristimantis leoni complex according to the original publication, where comparative morphology and molecular markers were detailed and a dot map of the distribution provided.
