Throughout French Guiana and is also present in northernmost Amapá in Brazil; likely in adjacent eastern Suriname.

Comment
In the Pristimantis lacrimosus group according to the original publication, where comparative morphology, molecular markers, advertisement call, and a dot distribution map were provided. Previously the species had been confused with Pristimantis zimmermanae. Taucce, Costa-Campos, Carvalho, and Michalski, 2022, Eur. J. Taxon., 836: 96–130, reported on (as Pristimantis zimmermanae) distribution, literature, and conservation status for Amapá, Brazil.
