Highlands of the Cordillera Oriental and toward the west in the city of Loja and in the inter-Andean valley of Zamora, Provincia Loja, Ecuador, 1937 to 2821 m elevation.

Comment

The sister taxon of Pristimantis (Huicundomantis) torresi and in the Pristimantis phoxocephalus species group according to the original publication, which detailed molecular markers, advertisement call, and adult morphology. Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 3: 223–226, provided an account, with photographs, summarizing morphological identification, systematics, natural history, distribution (including a dot map for Ecuador), conservation, and also (p. 472) described the advertisement call.
