Pristimantis loujosti Yánez-Muñoz, Cisneros-Heredia, and Reyes-Puig, 2011 "2010", Avanc. Cienc. Ingen., Quito, Secc. B,, 2 (3): 29. Holotype: DHMECN 04843, by original designation. Type locality: "la Reserva Biológica La Candelaria (01° 27′ 5.9″ S, 78° 18′ 29.6″ W elevación 2800 m), parroquia Río Verde, Cantón Baños, Provincia de Tungurahua,República de Ecuador".

Distribution

Western slopes of the Cordillera Occidental in Carchi Province, Ecuador, and in the Departamento Nariño, Colombia, 1186 to 1537 m elevation.

Comment

Similar to Pristimantis pycnodermis according to the original publication. Not assignable to a species group according to Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 127. Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 3: 227–228, provided an account with photographs which summarized morphological identification, systematics, natural history, distribution (including a dot map for Ecuador), and conservation.
