Pristimantis (Pristimantis) matidiktyo Ortega-Andrade and Valencia, 2012, Herpetologica, 68: 245. Holotype: DHMECN 4437, by original designation. Type locality: "Juyuintza, 2.11° S, 76.19° W, 200-m elevation, Pastaza province, Republic of Ecuador".

Distribution

Isolated localities in Amazonian lowland forest 215 to 1236 m elevation in eastern Ecuador (provinces of Orellana, Pastaza, Napo, and Morona Santiago).

Comment

In the Pristimantis frater group according to the original publication. Not assignable to a species group according to Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 127. Included in the Pristimantis ockendeni clade of the Pristimantis unistrigatus group as delimited by Mônico, Koch, Ferrão, Fernandes, Marques, Chaparro, Rodrigues, Lima, and Fouquet, 2024, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 108203: 1–19, on molecular grounds (mtDNA and nuDNA genes). Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 3: 244–245, provided an account with photographs which summarized morphological identification, systematics, natural history, distribution (including a dot map for Ecuador), and conservation.
