Distribution

Known only from the vicinity of the type locality, Alto Nangaritza Protected Forest, Zamora Chinchipe Province, Ecuador, 1809 to 1843 m elevation.

Comment

In the Pristimantis (Huicundomantis) cryptomelas species group according to Páez and Ron, 2019, ZooKeys, 868: 95. Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 3: 267–268, provided an account with photographs which summarized morphological identification, systematics, natural history, distribution (including a dot map for Ecuador), and conservation.
