Distribution

Known only from the vicinity of the type locality (Cantón Santiago de Méndez) on the eastern Andean slopes of the Cordillera del Cutucu, 1352 to 1413 m elevation, Provincia Morona Santiago, Ecuador.

Comment

In the Pristimantis lacrimosus species group according to the original publication. Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 3: 266–267, provided an account with photographs which summarized morphological identification, systematics, natural history, distribution (including a dot map for Ecuador), and conservation.
