Amazonian slopes of the Cordillera Oriental in Tungurahua and Morona-Santiago provinces, Ecuador, 1784 to 2190 m elevation.

Comment

Unassigned to species group but possibly in the Pristimantis myersi group due to its similarity to Pristimantis bicantus according to the original publication. Excluded from the Pristimantis myersi group by Franco-Mena, Guayasamin, Andrade-Brito, Yánez-Muñoz, and Rojas-Runjaic, 2023, PeerJ, 11 (e14715): 1–35, who found it phylogenetically imbedded within Pristimantis bicantusColoma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 3: 270–271, provided an account, with photographs, summarizing morphological identification, systematics, natural history, distribution (including a dot map for Ecuador), conservation, and also (p. 477) described the advertisement call.
