Chocoan lowlands of northwestern Ecuador (Esmeraldas and Manabí provinces), 58 to 601 m elevation.

Comment

In the Pristimantis unistrigatus group and most similar to Pristimantis walkeri and Pristimantis luteolateralis, according to the original publication. Included in the Pristimantis chalceus clade of the Pristimantis unistrigatus group as delimited by Mônico, Koch, Ferrão, Fernandes, Marques, Chaparro, Rodrigues, Lima, and Fouquet, 2024, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 108203: 1–19, on molecular grounds (mtDNA and nuDNA genes). Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 3: 272–274, provided an account with photographs which summarized morphological identification, systematics, natural history, distribution (including a dot map for Ecuador), and conservation.
