Distribution

Known only from two localities on the western slope of the Cordillera Oriental, separated by ca. 10.6 km, Tungurahua and Pastaza province, Ecuador, 1391 to 1600 m elevation.

Comment

Similar to Pristimantis cremnobates, Pristimantis rubicundus, and Pristimantis nigrogriseus, according to the original publication. Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 3: 317–319, provided an account with photographs which summarized morphological identification, systematics, natural history, distribution (including a dot map for Ecuador), and conservation.
