Distribution

Known only from the type locality in cloud forest at 2200 m elevation in the Reserva Ecológica Río Zuñag, Tungurahua Province, Ecuador.

Comment

Similar to Pristimantis puruscafeum and Pristimantis bellae according to the original publication. Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 3: 363–365, provided an account with photographs which summarized morphological identification, systematics, natural history, distribution (including a dot map for Ecuador), and conservation. In the Pristimantis bicantus species group of Loza-Carvajal, Yánez-Muñoz, Quilumbaquin, and Ortega-Andrade, 2025, PeerJ, 13(e20512): 6.
