Pristimantis saturninoi Brito-M., Batallas-Revelo, and Yánez-Muñoz, 2017, Neotropical Biodiversity, 3: 146. Holotype: DHMECN 12232, by original designation. Type locality: "Cerro Sambalan (2º11′ 56.9″ S; 78º26′ 50.2″ O, 3337 m), Parque Nacional Sangay, parroquia Zuñac, cantón Morona, provincia de Morona Santiago, República del Ecuador". ".

Distribution

Known only from the type locality on Cerro Sambalan in the Parque Nacional Sangay, Provincia Morona Santiago, Ecuador, 3337 m elevation.

Comment

Similar to members of the Pristimantis orestes group, but explicitly not assigned to group in the original publication. Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 3: 369–370, provided an account, with photographs, summarizing morphological identification, systematics, natural history, distribution (including a dot map for Ecuador), conservation, and also (pp. 484–485) described the advertisement call.
