Eleutherodactylus waoranii McCracken, Forstner, and Dixon, 2007, Phyllomedusa, 6: 25. Holotype: TCWC 90728, by original designation. Type locality: "near the border of Yasuni National Park along the Tiputini River, Provincia de Orellana, Ecuador; approximately 2.5 km west-northwest of the Tiputini Biodiversity Station (TBS)—Universidad San Francisco de Quito, 0° 38′ 18.49″ S, 76° 08′ 56.69″ W, 217 m a.s.l."

Distribution

Amazonian lowlands of Napo and Orellana provinces, Ecuador, 228 to 339 m elevation.

Comment

In the Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group, in the Eleutherodactylus lacrimosus assembly, and similar to Eleutherodactylus lacrimosus, and suggested the likely placement of this species in Pristimantis, according to the original publication. In the Pristimantis lacrimosus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 123, and of  Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 126. Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 3: 434–435, provided an account with photographs which summarized morphological identification, systematics, natural history, distribution (including a dot map for Ecuador), and conservation.
