Type locality: "Canchayoc (13° 07′16.2″ S, 72° 19′ 53.0″W, 3663 m a.s.l.), near Abra de Málaga, Distrito de Huayopata, Provincia de la Convención, Departamento Cusco, Peru".

Humid grassy puna in the Umasbamba Valley, near to Abra de Málaga, and Canchayoc, Distrito de Huayopata, Provincia de La Convención, Departamento Cusco, between 3555-3950 m elevation.
