Phrynopus adenopleurus Aguayo-Vedia and Harvey, 2001, Rev. Biol. Tropical, 49: 334. Holotype: MHNC 1-ABC, by original designation. Type locality: "10 km al N de la población de Monte Punko (Parque Nacional Carrasco), departamento de Cochabamba, Bolivia (17° 33′ S, 65° 17′ O) a 3350 m".
