Phrynopus kempffi De la Riva, 1992, Herpetologica, 48: 111. Holotype: EBD 28842, by original designation. Type locality: "30 km by road from Comarapa (Caballero province, Department of Santa Cruz) towards Cochabamba, in "la Siberia", 2600 m (Carrasco province, Department of Cochabamba) (17° 50′ S, 64° 45′ W)", Bolivia.
