Comment

Annenctant between Phrynopus and Phyllonastes in some ways, such as in lacking toe discs, according to the original publication. See Duellman and Lehr, 2009, Terrest.-breeding Frogs in Peru: 91-92, for brief account. Assigned to Phyllonastes by von May, Diaz, Ttito, Santa-Cruz Farfan, and Catenazzi, 2024, Diversity, 16 (613): 8, on the basis of morphological similarlity because not included in their molecular analysis of the genus.  Ortega, Cisneros-Heredia, Camper, Romero-Carvajal, Negrete, and Ron, 2025, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 203: 55, disagreed with this generic assignment, returning it to Noblella on the basis of shared-derived morphological characteristics.
