Comment
In the Eleutherodactylus nigrovittatus group of Lynch, 1989, Milwaukee Public Mus. Contrib. Biol. Geol., 79: 1-25. See brief account by Lynch and Duellman, 1980, Misc. Publ. Mus. Nat. Hist. Univ. Kansas, 69: 27-28, who referred it to the Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) conspicillatus series, Eleutherodactylus nigrovittatus group. Heinicke, Duellman, and Hedges, 2007, Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA, 104: 10092-10097, removed this species from nominal Eleutherodactylus but did not provide a new generic name; see comment under Hypodactylus. Mueses-Cisneros, 2005, Caldasia, 27: 235, provided a record for Putumayo, Colombia. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status (as Eleutherodactylus elassodiscus) in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 335.
